House Rules

We wish to welcome you to Casa de Terrazas Bed & Breakfast

We look forward to creating a memorable, energizing experience for you. Our home, your bed & breakfast is a smoke-free and pet-free premise.

In order to facilitate the smooth operation of the bed and breakfast, it is understood that the guests accepts our general house rules, terms & conditions as set out below. Please keep in mind we are a bed and breakfast – we are not a hotel, our aim is to deliver a personal touch for your stay and enjoyment.

Respect & consideration towards other guests and the bed & breakfast

Guests will come and go depending on the nature of their stay, front door access is by means of personal key codes provided on check-in.  Please ensure that you close and lock the front door after you leave or enter the building for your security and the security of other guests staying at the Casa.

Please be mindful not to make undue noise, especially during sleeping hours.

General Rules

  1. Our home, your bed & breakfast is a smoke-free and pet-free premise

  2. Please respect the quiet time between 10:00PM and 7:00AM.

  3. Please maintain a friendly and respectful behavior to all personnel and other guests.

  4. We strive to have a clean place. Please be sure to use the garbage bins available around the property and please clean up after yourself. Rooms will be cleaned daily. To protect the environment we encourage guests to reuse towels - if you would like them changed, please leave them on the floor in the shower.

  5. Please switch off all lights, air conditioning, TV and other devices when you are outside of your room.

  6. Any damage caused due to improper use of the facilities will result in a charge for damages.

  7. Please do not take anything (towels, toiletries, bedding, etc) from the house that does not belong to you.  An inventory will be taken before you checkout and missing items will be charged to you. 

  8. The Chef Kitchen and barbecue area are off limits to guests, these areas are for the exclusive use of your hosts, the owners of Casa de Terrazas.

  9. Please do NOT flush paper towels, feminine items, diapers, or any other products in the toilet. If there is a problem, please call immediately. If maintenance determines that the toilet was clogged with any of the above mentioned items, the guest will be charged.

  10. The B&B is not responsible for money or personal belongings - safes are available in all rooms for your personal use. Guests will be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury they may cause or incur at the premises. 

  11. The B&B is not liable for any delay due to a total or a partial lack of supply such as gas, electricity, water, telephone line or connection to the internet, which does not depend on our will. 

  12. It is forbidden to bring and use portable and electric heaters, gas cooker and similar devices, as they may damage the premises, people and things.

Hello and Goodbye

Check-In

Check-In is from 3pm onwards. Please confirm your arrival time so that your hosts will be available to greet you. We do not have a full-time service desk so it is imperative that we manage the time with you. If your schedule change while you are travelling, please update us so that we can accommodate your arrival time.

  • For internal security, guests must show a valid ID in order to check in.

  • Payment of your outstanding balance for your stay is due upon check-in, no exceptions.

  • No checks, credit cards, or debit cards are accepted. Cash, e-transfer, wire transfer or PayPal are accepted forms of payment 

  • The property is for the exclusive use of registered guests only. Please do not invite guests to the house. If you bring unregistered guests on the property, your stay will be terminated effective immediately with no refund.

  • Please leave all doors closed and locked when you leave the house.

Occupancy

We have four rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are furnished with bed sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, hair-dryer. If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to ask and we will do our best to satisfy your requirements.

All rooms are double occupancy with one family room that can accommodate 4 guests. There is an additional charge of $25 per person per night (to max room capacity).

Please use the bins provided for anything apart from toilet paper.

Check-out

Unless agreed upon, check-out is at 11:00AM. This allows the rooms to be cleaned in order to welcome new guests. A room inspection will be done with you prior to check out for inventory check, confirm no damages, etc. If you would like a later check out please request during check in and we will advise if that can be accommodated. 

Schedules, Events and Services

Breakfast Time

Breakfast will be served between 8:00a.m. - 10:00a.m. Breakfast is not a buffet - all breakfasts are cooked to order, so please keep this in mind. Outside of this schedule, service is not available.

Breakfast will generally consist of the following options:

  • Assorted cereals with cows or almond milk

  • Fresh fruit & breads

  • Freshly squeezed orange juice, filtered coffee/espresso/lattes & assorted teas

  • Bacon, eggs (made to order), pancakes, waffles

  • Empanadas, other Ecuadorian options

  • Gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options (must be pre-arranged at time of booking)

The Chef’s kitchen is strictly private and is used for the preparing and serving of the breakfast at the Casa only. Guests are not allowed use of this kitchen. There is a microwave and fridge located on the 2nd level guest terrace for guests to use.

Laundry

For our long term guests (one or more weeks) if you need personal laundry done, please contact your hosts to make arrangements.

Car parking

Cars parked in the area will be at owner’s risk.

Wi-Fi

There is free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The Wi-Fi code will be in your welcome package available on arrival at the Casa.

Data

Some of the data gathered during the course of a booking may be held on our computer. We would like to hold this data after your visit to be able to inform you of future offers. If you would prefer us not to hold this information, please let us know.

Lost Property

We are happy to return forgotten items however you will be required to make arrangements to cover shipping/handling costs. Items will be held for a month and if no arrangements are made the items will be disposed.

PriCes

We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. This does not affect bookings already made.

Termination Policy

Casa de Terrazas reserve the right at its discretion to terminate without notice an individual’s stay where deemed necessary - through unacceptable behavior or as a result of actions which are likely to endanger or offend others. Non-compliance of our non smoking policy will constitute termination. In such circumstances any outstanding account must be settled, no refunds will be made.

Damages & loss

All guests are liable for any loss, damage or personal injury they may cause or incur at the Casa.

  • Please take care of our Casa. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents.  We do not normally charge for breakages, but we reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage is significant, or for missing items

  • We cannot accept responsibility for your losses within the premises

  • Please ensure that you lock your bedroom, the front door and your car

Your collaboration and respect for these house rules are highly appreciated. Breaking house rules may result in you not being able to extend your stay or possible termination of your stay.
